PETRINA BURMAN

PERSONAL HISTORY

Petrina was raised and has lived in the area her entire life. She has been married for 8 years to Joe, a third-generation plumber. They proudly operate a family-owned business, R.L. Burman Plumbing which has been in operation for over 100 years.  Petrina and Joe have one son, who attends an Antioch public school. Petrina is proud to raise her family in such a proud, diverse & hard-working community. PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Petrina worked at Orchard Medical Center in Antioch for 12 years as a Medical Assistant and later promoted to Clinical Supervisor.

While working at Orchard Medical Center, she took on a second job at Lake Forest Hospital (now Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital), working as a certified phlebotomist. 

She worked with the Countryside Respite Program in Palatine, Illinois- providing respite care to individuals with developmental, physical and mental disabilities, as well as short-term relief for their primary caregivers. 

While raising her son, she also assists in the day-to-day administrative and clerical operations of their family-owned plumbing business. 

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Petrina has been passionate and dedicated to community service throughout her life, volunteering in the schools, a team parent for youth football, community fundraisers, and working in the community for causes she strongly believes in.

She is passionate and devoted to the conservation of Monarch butterflies. With the help of her husband and son, they have created a monarch waystation. Their waystation provides milkweed and nectar plants native to the area necessary to the survival of the almost extinct monarch butterfly and other pollinators, provides protection by raising monarchs from egg to butterfly, then release, helps monitor monarchs in our community. educates others about pollinators, conservation and how they can get involved and help.
